A Tale of Two Productions: The Princess King and Stone Soup

Dakota Stage Ltd. and Shade Tree Players are proud to present The Princess King at Dakota Stage as the next show of their summer children’s theatre season; and Stone Soup at the Frances Leach High Prairie Arts and Science Complex.

The Princess King

Princess Genevieve wants to marry Henry but he’s just a common cook. Of course, the king is dissatisfied and takes it upon himself to hold a contest to choose who will make a suitable husband for his daughter. Princess Genevieve is outraged so she and Henry cook up a plot to have Genevieve enter the games herself! Filled with mistaken identities, tongue-in-cheek humor and over-the-top characters, audiences will cheer for the princess as she tries to outsmart Prince Air-Guitar and evil Prince Fluffy and battle the great chicken-dragon, with some help from Henry’s delicious lasagna!

Starring area children from 7-18 years of age, many appearing on the STP stage for the first time, the production is certain to be a fun filled, family event. The Princess King runs from July 12 through the 14 at 7 p.m. and 2 p.m. on July 15 at Dakota Stage located at 412 E Main Ave., Bismarck.
