Many families across the country already know how the new health care law, the Affordable Care Act, is helping them. They’ve been able to maintain coverage for their college-age children, or buy health insurance after being previously labeled “uninsurable.” Still millions more have discounts on expensive prescription drugs.
Today AARP launched a personalized online tool, the Health L aw Guide, to help people of all ages understand benefits available currently and in the future under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Through a brief series of questions, AARP’s unique web-based tool provides an individually tailored report outlining coverage details based on an individual’s existing health care coverage or what other health coverage the individual may be eligible to get.
Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 1, AARP Tax-Aide sites in North Dakota will be open and ready to help this tax season. AARP Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest, free, volunteer-run tax preparation service, where volunteers commit their time and talents to help their neighbors. This service is available to middle- and low-income taxpayers of all ages with special attention to those 60 and older.
