Shade Tree holding open auditions

All area students age 7-18 are invited to attend Shade Tree Players open auditions! In order to ensure a quality theatrical experience for all participants, STP is able to accommodate only the first 300 registrants to its 2012 program. Performance registrants must audition for at least 3 productions but will only be cast in 1. If registrants choose to audition for less than 3 productions they are not guaranteed a role in any show. All performance registrants 12 years or older also have the option to register for the technical program for an additional fee. Technical program registrants are not required to register for a performance audition and for safety reasons only the first 25 technical registrants will be accepted. Registrants 12-18 are welcome to audition for the Traveling Troupe exclusively.

Auditions are Saturday April 28 and Sunday April 29. All registrants will be issued a confirmation after completion of online registration. Pre registration is required. All three forms are now available on the website, http://dakotastageltd.com/?id=121. Each registrant must complete and submit the program, audition date & time and payment forms.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

The Abused Adult Resource Center is holding the Concert for Courage on April 21 at the Stadium and The Lodge. This is an event honoring the survivors of rape and sexual assault and bringing awareness to the community. This free event features local musicians and information about sexual assault in a fun environment. 21 and over only.

April is Sexual Assault Aware­ness month nationwide. The Abused Adult Resource Center (AARC) in Bismarck, ND is one of 21 programs in the state that pro­vides advocacy, resources and referrals for victims of sexual assaults and rapes in a seven-county area that includes Kid­der, Sioux, Emmons, Burleigh, Morton, Grant and Sheridan counties.

Poker Bowling strikes Bismarck

URL Radio is hosting it’s 2nd Annual Poker Bowling, otherwise known as Boker, Tournament on Saturday, April 21 at Midway Lanes in Mandan. Check-in starts at 11:30 a.m. Bowling starts at noon. Proceeds will benefits Bismarck Dollars for Scholars. Adults are $25 and students are $15.

Last year Bismarck Dollars for Scholars awarded $8,500 in scholarships. This meant 17 students were able to receive $500 scholarships. Register online at www.urlradio.net or call 751-0838.

ArtsQuest Coming Up at Bismarck State College

The BSC Arts and Communi­cations Department sponsors ArtsQuest each school year. It is an annual celebration of music, art, theater, film and literature. ArtsQuest highlights the talents of BSC students and brings performances and presentations by renowned guest artists to campus and venues throughout the community
