Bismarck, let’s discuss your 2011 flood tragedy as a whole AFTER driving through Minot and visiting friends living in FEMA trailers. I did that this past Sunday afternoon, a year after the sirens sounded and a summer of flooding inundated the Mouse River Valley.

Rebuilding of the flood-damaged Minot area houses owned by the elderly and other vulnerable populations is progressing slowly because there have been few volunteer laborers this winter.
Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) is coordinating rehabilitation of about 500 homes. Their efforts will last through 2014.
