Obama’s Spending Record: More Conservative than Reagan’s

This is the kind of reality that makes Sean Hannity’s head explodes. So far, the GOP candidates have been running against a fictional president with a fictional record. Obama didn’t campaign to increase government spending, but inherit­ing what was in the final quarter of 2008 an an­nualized contraction of 9 percent of GDP, he opted for a stimulus. That ac­counts for much of the spending.

Supporters of the pipeline have been making promises of up to 250,000 jobs being created; lowered gas prices; energy security; thousands of gallons of North Dakota oil being sent south in the pipeline. . . Response to pipeline decision: From shrill to responsible

When President Barack Obama denied TransCanada Corporation’s permit to build the Keystone XL Pipeline, the reaction ranged from inflammatory accusations to statements on how North Dakota can take responsibility for what happens here.

President Obama made his decision because of the “rushed and arbitrary deadline” Congressional Republicans inserted into a payroll tax bill in December. That politically inspired deadline “prevented a full assessment of the pipeline’s impact, especially the health and safety of the American people,” Obama said.

More than just “Pipe Dreams”

Pipe Dreams is a documentary film produced by Jane Kelly Kosek and Leslie Iwerks. The film was just recently nomi­nated for the shortlist of the Academy Awards. Eight documentary films out of 48 were selected to the short­list and then will be judged in three large cities. T he final announcement for the academy nominations will be announced on January 24.
