On a list of issues concerned with the lives of women, the American Association of University Women analyzed critical votes by members of the U. S. House of Representatives and the U. S. Senate in the first session (2011) of the 112th Congress. The legislation in­cluded campus safety, education, jobs (women make up 76 % of the teach­ing profession), the paycheck fairness act, reproductive health, and several bills concerned with the budget.

The 2012 Microsoft Student Experience Program (SEP) is a paid work experience for high school and college stu­dents to work on Microsoft’s Fargo, ND campus during the summer. It offers real-life working experience, while learning about the technology industry.

BSC theater students win regional award

Bismarck State College technical theater students took first p lace in the Stage Crew Show­down Jan. 16-21 at the Kennedy Center Ameri­can College Theater Festi­val (KCACTF) Region V competition at Iowa State University.

The BSC team swept ahead of 14 four-year uni­versities and another two-year college in the contest. Continue reading
